Asia in November

We are working on getting a proper video camera but in the mean time we thought this might be fun. Of course she never says or does the things we originally got the camera for but here is Asia learning to suck on her fist.

So much has happened since she was born. We have been learning and adjusting as time goes by. Even though I have taken some time off of work I still do not seem to have the time to post on a regular basis. So I think I will put down a few random thoughts from the past month.

I remember...

  • Thinking how long her eyelashes have grown and how amazing her eyes look. The debate is still on as to whether or not they will stay blue.

  • Most parents love to boast about their child's amazing talents whatever they may be. Our little girl seems very strong in general but she can stand already! She does need help with balance but she tries hard. When the right music is playing she will even bounce up and down to it.

  • Also being impressed at how much she loves her mobile and gets so excited to see them every morning.

  • The elation when she first slept through the night... followed by the snap to reality when it only lasted two nights. However, she again slept through the night last night and we are hoping she will make it a habit.

  • How cool it was to see her with her cousin Chase
  • and Kayt's birth son Joshua

  • Spending the morning staring at her while she coos and smiles and wondering how did she get even cuter than yesterday?
  • Yes I do have my glasses set to proud parent.

  • Singing to her "you are my sunshine" and wondering if the noises she makes are her singing along or her expressing her dire need for me to stop.

  • Dreaming about the day she will reach out to me and say Daddy but also wishing she would slow down so we could really absorb all that is happening here and now.

  • Enjoying our first night out without her for five hours of dinner and dancing... but always having a part of us at home. Kayt only called three times :)
  • Being worried when she was better for the babysitter than she was for us. Coming home to her asleep and just wanting to pick her up and tell her how much we missed her. Kayt opted to peer into her crib while I just watched her on her monitor for a good ten to fifteen minutes.
These are a few of my favourite things so when the dog bit and the bee stung I had these to fall back on.
