It's amazing to see that our last post was as far back as September. Although that sounds like a long time ago, it really does feel like yesterday. It is hard to think that it is closer to a year than not that we have had Savannah in our lives. So I figure I would give a little update from mummy's eyes of my two girls together.

Canada day 2011
People would often ask about Asia's behaviour when I brought Savannah home. We were fully prepared for the worst and really didn't know what to expect. Gratefully, my answer is that I feel as though we brought Asia's best friend home the day we brought Savannah home from the hospital. I feared that we were not out of the woods and the novelty of this baby would wear off given time, but when novelty ran low a relationship was already in place and I couldn't imagine one of these girls without the other.
With Savannah's growing interaction Asia was delighted to see that she could be somewhat of a teacher to her little sister. The role of teacher and police man sometimes cross over but we figure if that is the worst of it we are pretty lucky. Asia also seems to think I need a little help parenting from time to time and is quick to point out that Savannah needs a bottle rather than the food I was mixing up for her, or vice versa.

In Ontario last summer
She is anxious to help wake her sister up in the morning and do a tab or two with a diaper change. I figure if we ever decide to have three children, I may have a diaper changer built right in!

Big smiles (Sept 2011)
What equally makes my heart smile is the response that Savannah will give Asia at any given time. At times not even Stefan or I have the influence to pull such a smile from this sweet girls face! She simply lights up when she sees her big sister walk in the room. We have been given a glimpse into the future when even at such a young age they get each other going at dinner time. Asia will look at Savannah and give a little laugh, to which it is delightfully (and a little more enthusiastically) returned. To which the instigator will not be outdone and so on and so on. Before you know it they are look at each other laughing and yelling at the top of their lungs at the dinner table! I have spent many moment biting my cheek so hard in an effort not laugh myself as I remind them that it is time to eat dinner!

Bath time fun Feb 2012
As our family continues to grow we are in constant awe at what these 2 little girls have brought into our lives. We wonder what ever filled our days and conversations before they came along.
